THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister CP John said he had no role in the removal of T.V. Anupama from her position as Secretary of the Transport Department. The minister praised Anupama as an excellent officer and denied allegations of receiving complaints against her.
The minister said it is the Chief Minister's Office that handles reassignment of officials, and added that Anupama's transfer was part of routine administrative procedures.
Earlier, allegations surfaced suggesting that Anupama was transferred following a disagreement with the Transport Minister's office.
Meanwhile, there are indications that the transfer took place at Anupama's own request. It was only recently that Anupama assumed the role of Transport secretary. As per insider reports, Anupama requested the Chief Secretary for a transfer, as she found it difficult to work effectively with the department's employees' union and other stakeholders. Some reports suggested that the employees' union lodged a complaint against her with the Minister.
