Heavy rain: Holiday declared for educational institutions in one district, relief camp schools in another

PALAKKAD: All educational institutions in Palakkad district, including professional colleges, will remain closed on Monday, October 26, in view of the continuing heavy rainfall, District Collector K. Sudheer has announced.

The holiday applies to Anganwadis, madrasas, tuition centres, coaching centres and special classes, in addition to other educational institutions. Examinations scheduled in advance will be held as planned. The district collector has also directed that previously scheduled fairs be conducted only after ensuring all necessary safety measures.

Meanwhile, in Wayanad district, the collector has declared a holiday on Monday for schools functioning as relief camps. The decision was announced in view of the India Meteorological Department's weather advisories and the prevailing rainfall conditions, according to the information provided.
