India bags third medal in Asian Games, wins silver in men’s shooting

NAGOYA: India’s medal tally at the Asian Games has risen to three. The Indian team won a silver medal in the men’s 10m air rifle event. The team comprising Himanshu Dhillon, Parth Mane and Rudrankksh Patil secured the silver medal. India scored 1890.1 points in the team total. China won the gold medal with a score of 1899, while Indonesia finished third with 1882.5 points.

China won the gold medal in the 10m air rifle event with a world-record score. India’s Rudrankksh Patil and Himanshu Dhillon qualified for the individual final. Rudrankksh, who scored 631.8, finished third, while Dhillon scored 630 points to finish seventh. Meantime, another Indian shooter, Parth Mane, finished 11th with a score of 628.3.

Indian athletes also put up strong performances in several other events, securing more medals. In the women’s MMA event, Suchika Taryal has assured India of a medal in the individual 60kg category. The women’s cricket team has also secured a medal. Meantime, the kabaddi teams will compete today, and India will be hoping for medals from them as well. In table tennis, India will twice face Pakistan today.
