Pedestrian hit by speeding car in Payyannur, dies

KANNUR: A youngster died after being hit by a speeding car in Perumba in Payyannur on Wednesday. Shahid (21), a native of Nirathumpalam, Mayyil, died in the accident. Shibil, a native of Thiruvattur, who was with him, is undergoing treatment after suffering serious injuries.

The accident occurred at around 2:30 am today. The two students from Kollam had returned home to celebrate Onam. They were walking on the road when the speeding car rammed into them. The car, which did not stop after the accident, was taken into custody by the police.
