Jasna and Afsal held at Kochi lodge, police seize over 306 grams of MDMA

KOCHI: Three people, including a woman, were arrested with MDMA during an inspection conducted by the Kochi City Police as part of Operation Toofan-Narco Hunt. The arrests were made during inspections carried out under the Ernakulam Central police station limits. A total of 306.468 grams of MDMA was seized from the three.

Afsal (230 of Thirichattukulam, Cherthala, and Jasna Susan Jooby (20) of Alumoottil, Puthenkavu, Chengannur, Alappuzha, were arrested from a lodge near Kalappurakkal Road. Police seized 199.038 grams of MDMA from them.

In another inspection near Ernakulam South railway station, police took Vishnu B. Pai (34), a native of Pandikudy, Kochi, into custody with 107.430 grams of MDMA.

The inspections were conducted under the supervision of DCPs Arun K. Pavithran and Mohit Rawat, as directed by Kochi City Police Commissioner Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar. Police teams led by Narcotic Cell Assistant Commissioner Ciby Tom and Ernakulam Central Station Inspector Aneesh Joy, along with the Kochi City DANSAAF team, carried out the operation and caught the accused.
