NEW DELHI: All India Students' Association (AISA) national president Neha Bora has approached the Delhi High Court challenging a police notice asking her to furnish a personal bond of Rs 10,000. The petition seeks to quash the notice issued after she was taken into custody on October 16. Her counsel argued before the court that she had neither disturbed public peace nor instigated violence.
Neha Bora told the court that she had no connection with the protest call made by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). She said her appeal was only to attend a peaceful gathering at Mandi House on October 16. The petition also stated that the allegation that she had instigated people to join the protest at Central Park in Connaught Place was factually incorrect.
Neha Bora was taken into preventive custody by the Delhi police on October 16 while she was on her way to Mandi House. She was released the following day. Subsequently, in a notice issued on October 18, the police directed her to furnish a personal bond of Rs 10,000 along with one surety and maintain peace during the period of investigation.
