'E20 Janata Party' is here! Tough days ahead for central govt, Nitin Gadkari

NEW DELHI: The CJP's protest in Delhi demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan after the NEET question paper leak yielded results yesterday. Dharmendra Pradhan became the first minister in 12 years under the Modi government to be forced to resign.

Following CJP’s path-breaking protest, a new group is forming on social media, giving shock waves to the BJP and the central government. The account has appeared under the name 'E20 Janata Party'. Followers are burgeoning in no time. The group demands government provide them with clean petrol. They are against Minister Nitin Gadkari and his idea of mixing petrol with 20 per cent Ethanol.

"The E20 Janata Party is fighting for the right of every citizen to buy 100 per cent petrol. Let them decide for themselves what goes into the fuel tanks of their vehicles," says the X account's bio. The E20 Janata Party is also believed to have been formed with support from the CJP movement. But it is unclear who the brains behind the group are.

There is widespread propaganda, including on social media, regarding the introduction of petrol containing 20 per cent ethanol, which is alleged to reduce mileage and cause engine problems. But the central government is completely rejecting these arguments. The Centre states that no such problems were found during the inspection and they confirmed that there is no going back on the project.

According to government figures, currently more than 200 million two-wheelers and more than 30 million cars in the country run on E15 and E20 petrol. The government also clarified that no decision has been taken on adding more than 20 per cent ethanol to petrol.
