DALLAS: Argentina defeated Jordan 3-1 in the World Cup Group J to exert complete dominance before heading for the next round. Argentina's goal scoring began in the 19th minute with a free kick by Giovanni Lo Celso. Lautaro Martinez scored the second goal in the 31st minute with a penalty kick to increase the lead.

Jordan then found a goal back in the 55th minute through Musa Al-Tamari, but Argentina dominated the game from then on. Football maverick Lionel Messi, who came on as a substitute for Lautaro Martinez in the 60th minute of the match, scored a sleek free-kick for Argentina in the 80th minute.

This was Messi's sixth goal of the World Cup, making him the first player to score in seven consecutive World Cup matches. The champions will now face Cape Verde in the round of 32.
