KOZHIKODE: The third teacher arrested in the Vadakara MDMA case was dismissed from her job on Tuesday. The teacher at Perambra BRC, V P Neeshma (30), a native of Avala Kuttoth, was dismissed. The SIT has also taken into custody a middleman in connection with the case. A youngster, a food delivery boy, native of Iritty, was arrested in the incident. With the case unravelling, the government dismissed the three teachers arrested in the case. Ironically, all the teachers arrested were part of the anti-drug campaign.

The arrested Neeshma was kept under surveillance by the police on suspicion of having links with a drug gang. She was summoned for questioning this morning and arrested. Earlier, Keerthana and Kavya, teachers at Perambra BRC, were arrested in this case.

Police say that Neeshma is involved in the deal with the drug gang. In addition to the financial deal, Neeshma admitted to using drugs regularly. Police say that there are more accused in the case and they are all under surveillance. The arrest was led by a special investigation team formed on the instructions of the Vadakara Rural SP.

The police received information that the three established contact with the mafia through Instagram. A friend in Mangaluru first provided the drugs to teachers. The mafia found in them a perfect conduit to sell the drugs to the public, knowing their profession. The three never met with customers but used to take money through UPI and arrange transportation of the banned stuff to the location.
