Sivankutty hits back after CPI mouthpiece criticises Pinarayi Vijayan for his ‘I’m everything’ attitude

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Assistant secretary Sathyan Mokeri's article in CPI mouthpiece has sharply criticized Pinarayi Vijayan over opposition deputy leader post controversy. The article accused Pinarayi Vijayan of violating coalition etiquette.

His article said the principles and ethics that should be upheld in coalition politics had not been respected. I will decide, I am everything, this attitude is not good for the front. The article also criticizes Pinarayi's statement as being unbecoming of a communist leader. Following the publication of the article, former minister V Sivankutty stepped forward attacking the CPI.

Sivankutty responded by saying that the CPI is a party that has not tried to strengthen the front and that the CPI has violated political etiquette. He described Sathyan Mokeri’s article as unfortunate. Sivankutty said the action taken by Pinarayi Vijayan was democratic. He alleged that issues that should be discussed within the coalition were instead being raised through newspapers, citing the PM SHRI issue as another example. Sivankutty said that whenever the deputy leader of the opposition was there, the CPM had handled it. There is no need for that to change.
