ALUVA: A 12-year-old girl who went missing from Aluva has been traced along with a 25-year-old man. They were found at Pune Railway Station in Maharashtra. Police said the man is a native of Oachira and has been taken into custody.
The girl went missing from Karumalloor in Aluva on Saturday. She had left home saying she was going to a friend's house to collect a book. When she did not return for a long time, her family filed a complaint with the Aluva West Police. The girl was carrying her mother's mobile phone when she left home. Police tracked the phone's location, which played a key role in tracing her.
After receiving information that the two were travelling to Pune on the Nizamuddin Express, an investigation team that had reached from Thane waited at Pune Railway Station. The train arrived at around 4 pm. Police searched the general coaches and found the girl and the man.
Earlier, the girl's relatives had alleged that she had been abducted and claimed they were not satisfied with the police investigation. Meanwhile, police urged parents to closely monitor their children and pay attention to changes in their behaviour. The investigation team said it is the responsibility of parents to ensure their children remain safe.
