THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a violent incident, a man attacked his wife in the middle of the road in Thiruvananthapuram city on Wednesday. The accused followed his wife—who was travelling on a scooter—and stopped her midway on the road. A bitter talk ensued, and the woman tried to leave when she was stopped and attacked. The accused, identified as Vijayan, a native of Pachalloor, inflicted injuries on his wife, Seema. She is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The incident occurred this morning. Vijayan followed Seema on his motorcycle, stopped her in the middle of the road, and attacked her with a knife. Reports indicate that Seema sustained multiple wounds on her body. CCTV footage of the incident emerged, showing Vijayan attacking Seema and the latter falling onto the road.

Vijayan and Seema had been living separately for 12 years. Seema's brother blamed a family dispute for Vijayan attacking his wife. The Malayinkeezhu police registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
