
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is searching Veena Vijayan's bank locker in the monthly payoff case. The search is being conducted at the HDFC Bank in Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram. Veena had given the documents related to bank deposits to the ED officials during her interrogation the other day. The locker is being searched on the basis of this. The search is conducted in the presence of the central forces.
ED had questioned Veena, daughter of Pinarayi Vijayan and the owner of Exalogic Solutions the other day in connection with the financial transactions with CMRL company. She was released after nine hours of interrogation. The questioning, which began at 11 am ended at 6 pm. She was given three breaks. After reading the recorded replies and listening to the proceedings, Veena came out at 7.52 pm.
It is hinted that Veena replied that she received Rs 2.78 crore from CMRL for providing software maintenance services. She also said that she does not have the details or evidence of the services since the company was closed. The ED sought detailed explanations regarding the sources of funds credited to various bank accounts and how the money was spent. Reports say clear answers were not received for several of the transactions under scrutiny. She appeared before the ED in response to its second summons.
