Youngster stabs 16-year-old teen over rejection in Thiruvananthapuram; probe ongoing

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a disturbing incident that shocked the capital city, a youngster stabbed a teen girl in revenge for rejecting him. The 16-year-old girl, a native of Kanyakulangara in Vembayam, suffered injuries to her neck. The Vattappara police arrested Sahad (21), a native of Panavoor, in connection with the incident. The girl is a Plus One student at Neduveli Higher Secondary School.

The incident took place near the girl's house in Kanyakulangara at around 2 pm today. The girl had gone out to buy a book when the accused, who was waiting nearby in a car, reached her. At this time, a verbal argument broke out between the two, and the accused tried to stab her with the intention of killing. After attacking her in a deserted area, the accused fled in a car.

The girl, who suffered serious injuries to her neck and face in the attack, is undergoing treatment at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. The Vattappara police have launched an investigation into the incident.
