MALAPPURAM: A youth who was undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident was arrested after police seized 21.42 grams of MDMA from his pocket at a hospital in Perinthalmanna, Malappuram. The accused, Sibin, is a native of Amayur in Pattambi. The motorcycle he was travelling on met with an accident at Edappal.

Sibin was taken to hospital after sustaining injuries in the accident. During an examination, a doctor found a packet in the pocket of his trousers. After identifying the substance as a narcotic drug, the doctor discreetly informed the police. Perinthalmanna police reached the hospital and confirmed that the packet contained MDMA. They subsequently took Sibin into custody and arrested him.

The source of the MDMA and whether Sibin intended to sell the drug remain unclear. Police are investigating his possible links with the drug mafia. His travel details and phone conversations will also be examined as part of the investigation. Sibin, who sustained minor injuries in the accident, remains under treatment at the hospital.
