France-Morocco high-octane clash tonight; FIFA WC quarter-final is here

NEW YORK: The quarter-final clash is set. Till now, 40 teams have stumbled, while the remaining eight teams will face off in the quarterfinals. Defending champions Argentina, former champions France, Spain, England, dark horses Norway, Belgium, Switzerland and African champions Morocco are all aiming for the semifinals.

France and Morocco will face off in the first quarterfinal match tonight (1.30 am Indian time on Friday).

Switzerland turned into the underdogs and became the last team to qualify for the quarterfinals after defeating Colombia in a shootout. After a goalless draw in regulation and extra time, Switzerland won 4-3 on penalties. Switzerland will face Argentina in the quarterfinals.
