Devan says no final decision yet on TVK Kerala unit chief post, calls BJP ‘big zero’

KOCHI: Actor and politician Devan has launched a sharp attack on the BJP, saying the party has failed to bring about the change people want and describing it as a “big zero”. He also accused the BJP of lacking long-term vision.

Devan’s remarks came amid indications that he could be appointed president of the Kerala unit of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
He said he had been verbally offered the TVK Kerala unit president’s post, but no official decision had been taken yet. A final decision would be made after his meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and TVK president Vijay on September 10, Devan said.

Devan said people wanted organisations with new ideas that were different from the existing political parties. TVK was one such organisation, he said.
He also said the ideas he had put forward years ago through the Kerala People’s Party were the same ideas that TVK and Vijay were advocating today. Devan added that Vijay would never stand with the BJP.
