Diary backfires: Discontent in BJP over Shone George’s revelation, V Muraleedharan expresses anger publicly

THRISSUR: The BJP expressed dissatisfaction on party leader Shone George for his revelation about the diary of CMRL owner Shasidharan Kartha in the monthly payoff case. The mention of V Muraleedharan MLA’s name in the diary turned out to be a setback.

The BJP is displeased after the information was revealed at the press meet convened on his own interest without consulting the state leadership. Both the Muraleedharan and the Krishnadas factions within the party have reportedly expressed their resentment on the incident. There are allegations that Shone’s hasty move has dragged the party into unnecessary political controversies.

By releasing the contents of the diary belonging to Kartha, Shone George really intended to put the LDF and UDF leaders on the defensive. However, the incident became a setback for the BJP after Muraleedharan's name was exposed.

Soon after it stoked a controversy, Muraleedharan had responded to the issue the other day. Muraleedharan, who denied the issue asked whether there was only one Muraleedharan in the BJP, adding that there were others with the same name. When the media asked whether Shone George had put him in a difficult situation, he said that he is not someone who would be cornered just because Shone George tries to trap him. He also said that he had staged protests against CMRL and had never accepted money from the company.

However, Muraleedharan said that questions about the authenticity of the diary released by Shone George today should be asked to him. He also demanded Shone George to explain why he had released the document. With this, the dissatisfaction within the party became public.
