Ammunition and liquor seized from locked house in Thamarassery; owner arrested

KOZHIKODE: Sixty-three bottles of foreign liquor and 70 bullets were recovered from a locked house in Thamarassery. The items were found in a joint inspection conducted by the excise department and the police. The house owner has been arrested in connection with the incident.


The local residents informed the authorities that suspicious activities were happening in the locked house. Following the information, an excise team reached the house and conducted an inspection. The foreign liquor seized from the premises was taken into excise custody, while the bullets are in the custody of the Thamarassery police. The bullets recovered were used in large firearms.


The police informed that a case has been registered and that the person in custody is being questioned in detail. The investigation is primarily focused on how such a large quantity of foreign liquor was obtained, why the bullets were purchased, and where they were purchased from.
