NEW DELHI: Fresh complaints have emerged over alleged errors in the CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation process, with several students claiming discrepancies in their revised results. Students have alleged that marks were reduced in subjects for which they had not even applied for re-evaluation. Some have also claimed that certain answer sheets were not reviewed at all.

Advocate Vineet Jindal, who had earlier represented students before the Supreme Court, said he has received several such complaints. He has also shared some of the complaints raised by students. Jindal said he plans to file a petition seeking clarity on the issue and request an explanation from CBSE.

Students are concerned as there is no further scope for reviewing answer sheets once the re-evaluation process is completed. Several students have claimed that they did not receive the expected marks even after applying for re-evaluation.

Complaints regarding evaluation increased after CBSE introduced on-screen marking. Students had earlier alleged, with supporting evidence, that some answers were left unchecked and that correct answers were awarded zero marks after they accessed copies of their answer sheets. Some students also claimed that certain answer sheets were poorly scanned, making them difficult to read. While authorities initially denied these issues, they later reportedly acknowledged that some mistakes had occurred. This led to a surge in re-evaluation applications, causing technical issues with the CBSE website. The website was restored after several days.

The re-evaluation results were released recently. CBSE had stated that nearly 87% of the re-evaluation requests had been processed and that the remaining results would be announced soon. However, new allegations of mistakes in the re-evaluation process have once again raised concerns among students.
