'Intentionally creepy': Kriti Sanon's Raksha Bandhan campaign irks netizens, celebrities

Actress and member of parliament Kangana Ranaut lashed out at the attire choice of Kriti Sanon in a Raksha Bandhan advertisement that surfaced recently. Calling the dressing “intentionally creepy”, Kangana said the actress wore a bikini or undergarments to appear in an advertisement which revolved around a religious festival.

“Where are all your styling options? Why would you tie your brother a Rakhi in your bikini/undergarments?” Kangana responded on social media.

Kriti appeared in GIVA’s Raksha Bandhan campaign titled Furever Sibling. The ad features a pet-friendly plot which shows Kriti tying a Rakhi to her brother and later to the pet dog. According to Bollywood Hungama, Kriti was seen wearing an off-white bralette-style blouse paired with a cape and a draped skirt for the advertisement.

Since the advertisement went on air, things turned bitter for the actress as many carped at the dress choice, even calling it a bikini or blouse and an incongruous choice for a scene involving a religious festival.

Meanwhile, Kriti responded to the issue on her Instagram, saying, “When will we stop telling women what to wear?? Culture & Traditions are in her heart, not in her neckline!”
