WASHINGTON: The confrontation that has been escalating tensions in the Middle East for more than 100 days is finally coming to an end. US president Donald Trump has informed that a peace agreement with Iran will be signed on Friday. The Iranian government also stated that the peace agreement has been finalized and will be signed on Friday. Iran will officially announce this Monday morning. Pakistan, which acted as the mediator, has also informed the world media that a peace agreement has been reached.

Israel and the United States launched military action against Iran on February 28. Iran lost several prominent figures, including its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei in the

past 107 days. Trump penned his decision to reach a peace deal on Truth Social, saying, ‘The deal with Iran is now complete.’

He said that there would be a free opening of the Strait of Hormuz and an immediate change of the US Navy there. The two countries will sign the peace deal electronically. Trump or Vice President J D Vance will sign on behalf of the United States. The United States may release $12 billion in frozen Iranian assets as part of the deal. This amount could increase to $24 billion during the 60-day negotiations.


United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that the signing of the peace deal by the two countries is a crucial step. Many countries around the world have welcomed the Iran-US peace deal.
