'Specific plan in mind, will turn Kerala into port city', says Chief Minister Satheesan
KOCHI: Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan announced that efforts would be made to turn Kerala into a port city. He was speaking at a reception held in his hometown, Paravur, after taking office as the Chief Minister. V.D. Satheesan added that the work for the same will begin soon and boasted of the government having a specific plan. Satheesan said that he will work in a way to make every resident of Paravur proud. Elites from the cine filed including Sreekumaran Thampi, Mohanlal and Salim Kumar, among others, attended the reception.
Speaking at the event, Mohanlal said that Malayalees have great hopes in the new Chief Minister.
Mohanlal said he was surprised to see the clamour among people to make Satheesan the chief minister of the state. Earlier, superstar Mammootty and Kunchacko Boban attended the reception held in Kochi. The Chief Minister, district ministers Anoop Jacob, Roji M. John, and V.E. Abdul Ghafoor and MLAs were received at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium by the Kochi residents. Mammootty honoured the chief minister by adorning him with a shawl. Mammootty wished Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan and kept hope that he would work with enthusiasm and justice.
