
KOZHIKODE: The report of the swab test results of three under observation has tested negative. The results for three people in close contact list of the Nipah patient have been received. The test was conducted at Kozhikode Medical College.
Four people are on the patient's close contact list. The test results of three of them have been received. They did not have any significant symptoms. They were shifted to the special ward of Kozhikode Medical College yesterday. The test was conducted after this. Meantime, the hospital authorities have informed that there is no significant improvement in the health condition of the 43-year-old confirmed of Nipah.
Meantime, Health Minister K Muraleedharan is leaving for Kozhikode tomorrow. It is also reported that he will camp in the district and coordinate preventive measures. The minister said there is presently no need to worry about Nipah. He had clarified that only one is on ventilator and his condition remains unchanged.
All the medicines required for Nipah prevention are in stock. Only the antiviral medicine is yet to arrive. It will be delivered from Delhi by this evening, he said. The minister said that the situation is presently under control and all directions have been given correctly.
