Relief for government job aspirants: Kerala PSC approves extension of rank lists
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a major relief to thousands of job aspirants, the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) has approved the state cabinet's recommendation to extend the validity of several expiring rank lists. Under the new directive, rank lists scheduled to expire between May 25 and August 31 will now remain valid until November 30.
The decision, finalised during a crucial PSC meeting today, will benefit 289 rank lists that collectively comprise 30,845 candidates. The move puts to rest widespread speculation regarding whether the Commission—predominantly composed of Left-leaning representatives—would clear the government's proposal.
The four-month extension applies to various crucial state-level and district-level cadres. Major state-level lists include College Assistant Professors, Special Branch Assistants in the Police Department, and Fisheries Assistants. Key district-level lists, such as Supplyco Assistant Salesmen and High School Teachers, will also see extended validity. With this administrative extension, departments will have additional time to report vacancies, potentially offering a lifeline to thousands of waitlisted candidates across the state.
