'Leaders need counselling on how to behave'; Strong criticism against CPM leadership
ALAPPUZHA: Strong criticism was raised against CPM top leadership in the Kannarkadu local committee during the assembly election review meeting. The local committee members said that the leaders should be subjected to counselling on how to behave with the people.
The committee blamed the CPM leadership for bringing down a popular government that once cherished a great rapport with the people. "The leaders have forgotten how to behave with the common people. The new generation is imitating them. The new leaders should only be given responsibility after checking their popularity and connection with people."
The members also alleged that the government often behaved in a condescending style even when approached by local, branch secretaries, MLAs or leaders. They said that the attitude was so terrible that even a staunch communist would hate the party. The local committee-level review meetings in Cherthala and Alappuzha constituencies began on Friday. In all the previous election review meetings, severe criticism was levelled against senior leaders like Pinarayi Vijayan and MV Govindan.
