Three-year-old girl raped and killed in Tamil Nadu, youth from Bihar arrested 

CHENNAI: A three-year-old girl was raped and murdered in Tamil Nadu. The police have arrested a 19-year-old youth of Bihar over the incident that happened in the SIPCOT industrial area of Gummidipoondi in Tiruvallur district. The victim’s family and others from Bihar are permanent residents of the area. Police said the youth lured the girl, who was playing near her house, with biscuits and then took her to an isolated area and raped her brutally.

The girl was found with serious injuries and was bleeding profusely in a search conducted. She was rushed to the hospital and died today while undergoing treatment. The accused was nabbed with the help of the local residents. He was later handed over to the police.

The incident has sparked widespread public outrage in the area. There are also reports that some locals have beaten up some on suspicion that more than one person was involved in the crime. However, the police have clarified that this was not a gang rape and that only one person is behind the act.
